I have some great recipes that was passed down from my family.  My family
was from Oklahoma so these are really fun recipe's. What's great about them is
they are low budget recipes! I grew up eating most of these foods and they are
so yummy! Our family has been passing them down for generations. I hope you

The Perfect Boiled Egg.
Put your eggs in a pot with enough water to cover
eggs.
Bring to boil.
Remove from heat, cover with lid and let sit for ten
minutes.  You will have the perfect boiled egg.
Ann’s Fruit Pie:

Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
¾ stick butter
2 teas. Baking powder
1 Large can= (1 qt) of peaches or fruit

Directions:
Mix: sugar, flour, baking powder, then
add 1 cup of milk. Stir.
Dobb (pats of butter) on bottom of pan,
pour mixture over butter, add 1 qt of hot
fruit on top of batter. Cook 350 degree
until mixture rises and becomes golden
brown
.
Flitters: Tastes like fry bread

Ingredients:
2 cups flour
a pinch of salt
water (enough to make a pancake dough)

Directions:
Mix all dry ingredients, then add water to a
pancake consistency. Fry in oil, enough
oil as you would fry meat.

Put butter, jelly, honey & powder sugar,
chocolate gravy, or sugar syrup on them.

Buttermilk Biscuit's:

Ingredients:

4 cups flour
6 teaspoons baking powder
a pinch of salt
1 tablespoon oil or bacon grease
Butter milk.

Directions:
Mix all dry ingredients, add milk until
dough is glossy then add oil.
Flour your dough board, place your
dough on it, knead flour into your
dough until the palm of your hand is not
sticky. Press or roll out 1/2 in.,thick. Cut
with biscuit cutter or glass rim. Add oil
to your baking dish. Slide 1/2 top of
biscuit across oil, them put biscuit on
baking dish with the oil side up. Preheat
oven bake at 450 degrees approx 20
minutes.

Soakies:

Ingredients:

1 Biscuit
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cups. coffee with (creamer) optional

Directions:
Take your cooked biscuit, split open face   
up, sprinkle sugar over your biscuit then    
poor coffee
over the top
(make your coffee as you always do, with   
sugar and cream.)
Sugar Syrup

Ingredients:

In a saucepan, pour
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Directions:
Bring to boil (do not stir) let boil 3          
minutes.
QUICK DISH RECIPE'S
Homemade Chicken & Noodles

Ingredients:

1 whole chicken
In large pan, boil 1 whole chicken 1
hour. Take the chicken off the bone,
place back in pot. Add carrots & celery

In separate bowl mix:
6 eggs
2-3 cups of flour
A pinch of salt
A pinch of pepper

Directions:
Mix all together adding flour slowly
until dough is thick.  Roll out. Cut into
thin strips.   
Add your noodles to the boiling
chicken broth, let cook covered for 10
min.
Homemade Pancakes

Ingredients:

2 eggs (beaten)
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3 cups milk
1/2 cube butter
1 cup flour
2 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of salt

Directions:
In bowl beat two eggs and the baking
powder together. Add salt, milk, melted
butter, vanilla.  Slowly add flour until
pancake consistency.
Pour into slightly oiled skillet 1/2 cup at
a time and cook until brown on both
sides.

Curry and rice salad

Ingredients:

1 box chicken Rice A Roni
1 can quartered artichoke hearts
1 small can sliced black olives
1 stalk of celery diced
1/2 c mayonnaise
Curry to taste

Directions:
Cook Rice according to directions.
Cool for about 1 hour. While rice is
cooling, drain artichoke hearts
reserving the juice. Dice the celery
and olives. Add artichoke and
reserved juice, olives, celery and
mayonnaise together in bowl. Add
curry small amounts at a time to
taste. When rice is cooled down add
all ingredients together. Serve well
chilled.

SPINACH CASSEROLE
Ingredients:

1 LB Hamburger
1 red onion
1 16 oz container sour cream
2 boxes frozen spinach
3/4 cup minute rice
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 lb grated mozzarella cheese
1 can of milk

Directions:
I large saucepan brown hamburger     
and onions. Add sour
cream,mushroom soup,minute rice,    
mayonnaise,and spinach.  Pour into   
9x13 buttered casserole dish. Top      
with graded cheese and bake at 350  
for approx. 30 minutes until bubbly.
Tuna Mac
Ingredients:

1 box craft macaroni & cheese
1 small can of tuna
1 8.oz can of peas

Directions:
Make you Macaroni & cheese per
directions on the box, add tuna,
peas. Serve with salad and bread.
Enjoy!
STRAWBERRY AND AVOCADO SALSA

6-ounce basket of strawberries
8-ounce can pineapple tidbits or
chunks
1 small avocado, pitted and diced
1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and
minced
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1/2 teaspoon onion salt

Rinse and hull strawberries. Cut into
3/4- inch cubes. Drain pineapple,
reserving juice. Combine pineapple,
2 tablespoons pineapple juice,
strawberries, avocado, jalapeño to
taste, balsamic vinegar and onion
salt. Let stand 10 minutes for flavors
to blend.
Serving suggestion: Combine
remaining pineapple juice with 2
tablespoons soy sauce and 1/2
teaspoon sesame oil. Use to
marinate halibut steaks or chicken
breasts for 20 to 30 minutes. Grill or
broil until done. Serve with
Strawberry Avocado Salsa.
