| Crafty Tips: Are you turning your craft into your business? Here are some good tips to help you out. You can learn to make what you do fun and profitable! There are a number of shows such as street festivals, high school fairs, flea markets etc...make sure they have a good stream of customers. Stay with local Craft shows to start. Look in local papers, chamber of commerce, or event websites. This will keep expenses low . Ask your price range the space fee could cost $20 - $500 or more. Keep your prices consistent, because you may get repeat customers. " Make your item unique. Use a table cloth that covers three sides of your table. Having a table cloth will hide your boxes and containers under the table. In your application make sure you note things like the need for electricity, or an extra table. Pick a visible area. Display your item's neatly on the table. Serving cookies will draw people to your table so place a platter of cookies in sight. Have something on hand to give away, pens, note pads or anything pertaining to your hobby. Make some poster's to highlight what you are selling. Show pictures, and tell them your story, what you made and why you created your idea. Have business cards and fliers. The fliers are cheaper than the business cards, but some will ask for your card. Patio/Garden Stones/Plant Stand
Patio/Garden stones is a great project to do with
children. Plus, the stones make great additions to your
yard or your garden.
They are very simple to make, and you can decorate as
you please.
First buy a bag of cement mix
Build a form to pore your cement in use a wooden form
or metal pie pan. Make a square or rectangle or circle
depending on your form. Or you can dig a design into
the dirt, shape it the way you want your stone to look,
and then pour your cement.
Mix up your cement mix and then simply pour it into your
form.
Let the cement sit for an hour or so and before it
hardens.
Water the stone a few times so it doesn't dry to fast and
crack.
Then let sit for at least 24 - 48 hours.
Then remove the stone from your form, and you have a
home made patio/garden stone! Paint your design
Decorate your stone with paint, rocks, leaves, or just
leave your hand print in the stone. You can stack them
to make plant holders by laying one on the bottom and
two on it's sides, then one on top laying flat. Continue
until your plant stand is as tall as you desire.
